Since entering the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series midway through the 2005 season, GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing has amassed a career performance record comparable to teams that have been racing for decades. In just 113 Daytona Prototype starts, GAINSCO has won 16 races, scored 47 total top-three podium finishes and placed in the top five in well over half its races.

The achievements are even more impressive when you look at the combined record of GAINSCO’s lead drivers Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty. After Gurney and team owner and then-driver Bob Stallings finished second for GAINSCO’s first podium finish at Watkins Glen International in just the team’s fourth race in 2005, Fogarty stepped in as Gurney’s full-time partner early in 2006.

The Gurney/Fogarty duo co-drove to each of GAINSCO’s 16 victories as one of the most successful pairings in top-tier North American sports car racing. At the 2009 season-ending Grand Prix of Miami, Gurney and Fogarty celebrated their second championship with GAINSCO in their 50th race together.

The 2012 season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona marked the 75th race together for Gurney and Fogarty as GAINSCO teammates, one of several milestones that season. The GAINSCO “Red Dragon” team also celebrated its symbolic 99th career race later that year at Laguna Seca and closed out 2012 in the following race at Lime Rock Park with its 100th race start. The most recent victory was a storybook triumph from the pole in the inaugural sports car race at Circuit of The Americas in the team’s home-state of Texas in March of 2013.

GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing team won the 2007 and 2009 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series team and driver titles, finishing second in the same championships in 2008, and third in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
