Presence felt by all

On the heels of an exhilarating return to prototype racing after a three-year absence from the IMSA WeatherTech series and Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup, GAINSCO Racing’s presence was felt by all and met by the likes of 50 other fierce competitors. We showed consistency and resilience throughout the season opener the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, finishing 7th overall. A few lucky and deserving partner agents from GAINSCO Auto Insurance’s southeast territory were treated to a VIP race weekend. Most of the VIP agents from Florida were also able to take full advantage of the hype and excitement of the race by hosting show car events at the agencies and bringing some of that experience to their customers

Also proving consistent and resilient was the GAINSCO Auto Insurance Show Car circuit surrounding the race, which made pit stops throughout the state en route to and from the race. It was a great circuit with some record setting events, including the A-1 Insurance group pictured above. A-1 in Quincy, part of GAINSCO’s Business Development Associate’s (BDA) call-based territories, waited patiently, for three years to get the green light for another show car event. They bided their time and planned for a big event, and GAINSCO knew it so the BDAs were deployed to help for this one show car event. It’s a good thing too, because we were busy all day with over 300 people stopping by and collecting over 160 new leads for A-1 Auto Insurance! What a great end to the show car circuit! However, later that night while starting the trip home, the show car trailer had an unknown issue and survived an electrical fire! We got back home safe and sound a few days later and continue the repair and cleanup process as the next circuit is always around the corner!

When the President of GAINSCO’s Southeast region pays a visit and wants a ride in the Red Dragon, you give him a ride! At Freedom Insurance in Largo.

We were a hit at Southern Family Insurance’s show car event at the Lakeland monthly First Friday festival and collected over 100 leads!

A-1 Auto Insurance in Quincy had huge show car event and kept us busy all day snapping and printing over 100 photos for customers and race fans!

Sweet Rides

I got a chance to get up close and personal with our newest No. 99 GAINSCO Red Dragon ORECA 07 LMP2 and it is sweet!

This hot green 1929 Ford Surf Woody rolled up to our show car event at Freedom Insurance in Largo. The owner let my son hop in and check it out.

Only In…

Only In…Daytona’s International Speedway can you walk along the start/finish line and experience a high-banked track!

Only In…Florida could a fan pass by a show car event last year while working and then end up working above our show car event this year!

Travels

After a three year hiatus, we returned to the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, and it felt good, real good…to be back! Wow, how the place had changed after a $400 million upgrade!

When we arrived in the Tampa area the 2018 NHL All-Star game had just wrapped up, but the fun wasn’t over yet. They let fans come in and paint on the all-star specific themed ice before taking it down.
