Here, then there, just about everywhere! After enjoying most of the summer in a cool office setting at GAINSCO’s headquarters, it was time to get back on the road and out in the heat. I headed into the fire that is August in Arizona to help GAINSCO Auto Insurance® represent with a big presence at the annual IIBAZ convention at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale AZ. I then traveled back to the Lone Star State for the Grand Prix of Texas weekend at Circuit of The Americas in Austin TX before doing a 180° to New Mexico for a round of show car events.

This year the GAINSCO Auto Insurance in-house Business Development Associates (BDA) Team not only implemented and scheduled the New Mexico show car circuit, but they also came into the field to visit important partner agents, attend the IIANM convention, and work all the show car events with me! Pictured above front-center with the C&R Insurance group in Gallup NM are GAINSCO BDAs Elliot Sewell and Saige Archer, who led the charge with the show car circuit. It was their first visit to the state and although the very busy week was a blur, they did a truly amazing job outside of their typical role in the office. Something tells me that “typical” role might just expand to include more show car events!

We had to go full rain setup for our wet show car event with George Gandy Insurance in Santa Fe NM.

Another podium race in the books, down at our “home track” Circuit of The Americas in Austin TX.

It’s always a good looking show car scene at Affordable Insurance in Farmington NM.

Sweet Rides

Saw this sweet custom slammed 1954 Ford Mainline Ranch Wagon turned woody in my parents’ neighborhood while in AZ.

C&R Insurance has their own sweet ride, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Edition. Only 1600 were produced in the last year of the iconic car.

Only In…

Only In…the midst of an action-packed BDA show car circuit at Eric Maestas Insurance in Farmington NM would Elliot Sewell “shotgun” a root beer.

Only In…a historic roadside diner, The Owl Café in Albuquerque NM, would you find such a quirk in an otherwise normal bathroom stall.

With the IIABZ convention in Scottsdale AZ wrapped up and literally behind me (lit up casino in background), it was time to unwind and celebrate my b-day by hitting a few balls at Top Golf with friends and family.

During our show car circuit in New Mexico, my family and I stopped in Grants to visit “The land of fire and ice” – Ice Cave and Bandera Volcano. Ancient lava trails lead to a dormant volcano and an ice cave with natural layers of ice illuminating blue-green natural arctic algae.
