Conventions are in full swing during the summer months and that normally means a ton of appearances for GAINSCO Auto Insurance® and the show car program. This year was no different as we traveled thousands of miles across the country in a short amount of time to represent GAINSCO at some of these important insurance conventions. During the month of June we had the pedal to the metal from Texas to Florida for the FAIA convention, then back for the IIAT in Ft. Worth TX, only to turn right back around and race up to TN for the PIA TN convention, all the while having GAINSCO show car events peppered in between.

The month-long circuit has seemed like a total blur, but the show car program delivered and was able to put so many smiles on the faces of the great GAINSCO Auto Insurance partner agents that we got to work with! Pictured above is just one of those amazing partner agents, Central Insurance Agency in Pigeon Forge TN. The family-run agency is in the top “family fun” destination of TN. It was right on the heels of the PIA TN convention that was just held in this small town with big city attractions, making for a prime opportunity to have a show car event! Central Insurance agency stepped up in a big way and had everyone on hand to ensure the event was fun for the whole family with homemade baked goods, pizza, sidewalk chalk drawings, and some friendly competitive games of cornhole and ladder golf.

TM Chuck Bush works his first official show car event with Jacob Boudreaux at the Boudreaux Agency in Ormond Beach FL.

TM Amanda Whitehead presents the fastest lap winners on the GAINSCO Racing simulator each with $50 gift cards at the PIA TN convention.

States Insurance CSR Ariel Tillman striking a classic pin-up pose with the 2015 GAINSCO Hyundai GTS Red Dragon under the agency’s building in Hudson FL. Yes, on a rain soaked day, we stayed dry and busy under a lower breezeway.

In Rogersville TN at Williams Insurance, owner Holden Williams and his wife pose for a picture with the local newspaper. Located close to Bristol TN, they are true racing fans and were very excited to host the GAINSCO show car.

Sweet Rides

The Universal Property and Casualty Insurance chopper built by Paul Jr. Designs formerly of Orange County Choppers at the FAIA convention.

Spotted this rare cat, a 1969 Mercury Cougar XR in a used car lot next to Carlos Insurance Services in Knoxville TN. As a muscle car fan, I was always fond of these and had to check it out!

Good Eats

Central Insurance Agency in Pigeon Forge has some serious cake decorating skills! They made a race car cake using cupcakes and donuts!

TM Abnel Crespo and Sales Manager Jose Mimoso took me to an authentic Cuban restaurant in Lakeland FL and they had me try Ironbeer; it tasted like fruitier Dr. Pepper.

Down the street from the Boudreaux Agency in Ormond Beach FL. is Birthplace of Speed Park. After our show car event TM Chuck Bush and I went to check it out. The park houses a small replica of the original Ormond Garage and inside…the Winston Bullet No. 1 and the Olds Pirate race cars.

While in Pigeon Forge TN, I ventured into the Smoky Mountains. for a beautiful 10 mile summit hike to Mt. LeConte via Alum Cave trail. It was amazing! I had to run down because of threatening weather, my ankles and thighs were totally shot for about 3 days afterwards.
